As Christmas draws ever closer and the festive cheer really starts to settle in, what better way to celebrate the season than with a relaxing walk through some of the most beautiful light displays that the United Kingdom has to offer? All the way from Scotland down to the South of England, we’ve got twelve of the best light displays to get you and your family in the seasonal mood and create some memories that you’ll still be talking about for many Christmases to come.


1.      Anglesey Abbey

Where: Anglesey Abbey, Quy Rd, Lode, Cambridge CB25 9EJ

When: 3-5 December, 10-12 December, 17-19 December

Although Anglesey Abbey hasn’t made any official announcements for their 2021 Winter Lights yet, previous installations have included film projectors, live musicians, shadow theatres and glowing characters along the 1.2-mile route, so expectations are high.

2.      Belton House

3.      Blenheim Palace

Blenheim Palace is bringing back it’s seasonal music, lasers and lights this year, but it’s the new addition that will tempt you. Specially for 2021, each room of the palace has been transformed. From a toymaker’s workshop on a cold Christmas Eve through to the candy-cane filled Kingdom of Sweets, they’ve transformed the palace to recreate the infamous Christmas story The Nutcracker – and it’s a reimagining that you don’t want to miss.

4.      Bedgebury Pinetum & Forest

5.      Leonardslee Lakes & Gardens

Where: Leonardslee, Lower Beeding, Horsham, West Sussex, RH13 6PR

When: 25th November – 22nd December 2021

Promising a theatrical visit, Leonardslee Lakes & Gardens offers an hour and a half’s walk through the Grade I listed landscape, with projections, illuminations, music, and actors performing throughout the trail.
